Objective

Seeking all high school marketers, entrepreneurs, or business students!

At CSMC 2021, teams will be given basic, surface level information about an imaginary company, such as its year of establishment and its yearly budget.

From there on, teams are responsible for building upon this company with mandatory elements (e.g. a company brand), and have the leisure of creating other components that may be beneficial (e.g. a website). This marks
Phase 1.

As the summer competition progresses, Marketyze will be releasing three prompts in different phases describing situations that any
real-world startup may encounter. Teams will then combat each prompt while fortifying their constructed company, as if in a simulation.

Once the four phases are up, teams will
pitch their company and describe their journey. The top three teams will be decided by a tally system by professionals in the fields, based on their rubrics.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is it free to compete in the CSMC?
Yes, there are no costs involved to participate in the CSMC. Marketyze’s mission is to provide accessible opportunities for all youth.

What does it mean to be a self-paced competition?
The majority of the competition can be completed based on you and your team’s discretion! You set the pace for how and when to work. Other than major events like the Opening Ceremony, the Awards Ceremony, and workshops, everything can occur asynchronously.

Do I need prior entrepreneurship experience to participate in the CSMC?
No. The CSMC is open to competitors of all levels. There will be multiple workshops, guest speakers, and mentors to assist participants in creating and building on a startup company.

Can I compete in the CSMC if I am not located in Canada?
The CSMC will be a fully virtual event, so international students are more than welcome to compete. All participants will receive information packages shortly before the competition begins, where a detailed schedule with exact timings of each activity will be contained.
