Canada Summer Marketing Challenge (CSMC)

Event Overview

The CSMC is a marketing competition occurring during summer, typically during July and August. In 2020, the CSMC was hosted from June 25 - August 26.  Each year, the focus of CSMC differs.


By competing in CSMC 2020, you will...

  • Launch, develop, and market a website on a niche of your choice

  •  Gain the support of a knowledgeable mentor throughout the challenge

  •  Complete a self-paced challenge (work to accommodate your schedules)

  • Walk away with key skills to add to your professional portfolio

  • Widen your network with new friends and valuable connections

Objective

Calling all high school business students!

It is time to put your skills to the test. Face off against other students in teams of five to see who can build, scale and market a website the best, on a $0 budget. As a competitor of CSMC 2020, you will also have the chance to hear from industry experts and strengthen your marketing skills. Whether you are new to business or want to hone in on your skills, join the challenge for summer 2020.

Eligibility

We are looking for high school students entering Grade 9 to 12 in September 2020 who are...

• Interested in marketing, business,  or entrepreneurship
• Seeking opportunities to develop relevant skills like social media marketing and web design
• Excited about working collaboratively on a fun team challenge over the summer

Guest Speakers

Abdullah Snobar is responsible for the strategic direction and continued growth of both the DMZ and DMZ Ventures. Under his leadership, the DMZ was ranked as the number one university-based tech incubator in the world.
